Version 1.2 · Last updated 19 October 2026
1.Who you're dealing with
These terms are an agreement between you and DenRev (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2023/005910/07), trading as Flamin Fairways ("we", "us"). Our full details are on the Legal page.
They cover this website, the Flamin Fairways Golf League ("FFGL") and the FFGL member app (together, the "Service"). These policies form part of these terms: Privacy Policy, Refunds & Cancellations, Community Rules, Integrity Reviews & Appeals, Flame Credits & Rewards and Handicaps, Leaderboards & Reviews. If they conflict, these terms win.
You accept these terms by ticking the box when you join. You can just browse the website without joining; then only clauses 1, 11, 12, 13 and 15 apply.
2.What the FFGL is
The FFGL is an online amateur golf league. Members post scores from rounds they play, and see where they stand on leaderboards by country and division. Members can also run and join their own tournaments, post in tournament comment feeds, rate courses and earn flame credits.
It's for fun and bragging rights. There are no prizes, and nothing in the Service is a bet, a lottery or a promotional competition.
We may add, change or remove features. If a change takes away something important you paid for, you may cancel and get a refund for the unused full months, with no cancellation fee.
3.Who can join
- You must be 18 or older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If we find a member is under 18, we close the account and refund any fee paid.
- Every member is approved by hand. We may decline an application for a fair reason, such as false details, a duplicate account or a previous removal. If we decline, you pay nothing.
- One account per person, in your real name. Your display name can be a nickname, as long as it follows the Community Rules.
4.Your account
Keep your login details private and switch on two-step login when the app offers it. You're responsible for what happens on your account unless it was used without your permission and you tell us promptly at flaminfairways@gmail.com.
Keep your details accurate, especially your handicap. If something changes, update it in your profile.
5.Price, payment and how long membership lasts
During the beta, the FFGL is free. Beta terms are on the Beta Tester Terms page.
From launch, in South Africa a membership bought during 2027 costs R499 for its 12 months (our launch-year price). Every membership or renewal bought from 1 January 2028 costs the standard fee of R599 a year (all-in: no VAT is added and there are no extra fees). Members outside South Africa pay US$49 a year from launch (there is no launch-year price outside South Africa). Any taxes your own country adds are shown before you pay. Loyalty prices for long-time members are worked out from the standard fee and are on the Membership page, which forms part of these terms.
Lifetime option. Instead of paying each year, you can pay once: R4,999 in South Africa or US$409 elsewhere. It is the same price in every year, including 2027. Lifetime means you never renew: your account stays open after your first 12 months, for as long as you stay a member and the FFGL runs. If you're already an annual member you can switch at any time by paying the full lifetime price; what's left of your current year isn't deducted. It's personal to you and can't be transferred or sold. If you cancel, or we close the FFGL, during the first 12 years, you get back the unused years as set out on the Refunds page. After 12 years there is nothing left to refund, but your membership carries on.
We aim to keep the standard fee stable. If it ever changes, the new fee only applies from your next renewal, never to a year you've already paid for, and your renewal reminder tells you the new fee before you decide.
You pay once, by card, through our payment provider. There are no debit orders, no hidden fees and no extras: one payment covers everything in the Service for 12 months from the day your payment clears.
Before you pay, you can check your order, fix mistakes or back out. You'll get an emailed receipt, and your payments stay in your account for you to look at.
Nothing renews automatically. When you pay, you choose that your membership ends after 12 months unless you renew. Between 80 and 40 business days before it ends, we'll email you a reminder with any changes that would apply if you renew.
6.Cancelling and refunds
Change your mind within 7 days: cancel for any reason within 7 days of paying and get a full refund within 30 days.
Cancelling later: you can cancel at any time by giving us 20 business days' notice, as the Consumer Protection Act allows. You keep access until the notice ends. We then refund the full months left after that date, less a R50 cancellation fee (never more than the refund). If less than one full month is left, there's nothing to refund.
If we're at fault: if we don't provide what you paid for, you're entitled to a fix or a refund, with no cancellation fee.
The full process is in Refunds & Cancellations.
7.Playing it honest
When you join, you promise to play it as it lies: every score you post is a true record of a round you actually played, under the rules on the Rules page.
Mulligans are allowed but must be claimed: up to 1 per nine holes. Gallery drops and the other amateur rules on the Rules page also apply.
8.Reviews, suspension and removal
We may review any score, handicap or post. Before we act, we tell you what we found and give you the chance to respond, and you can appeal. The steps are in Integrity Reviews & Appeals.
For a confirmed breach, we may remove scores or posts, give a warning, suspend you, or end your membership. We may only end your membership for a material breach, after giving you 20 business days' written notice to put it right, unless it can't be put right (for example, deliberate cheating or abuse). If we end it, we refund the full months left, less the cancellation fee.
9.What you post
You own what you post: comments, reviews, scores, course data, photos and feedback. You give us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, show and adapt it so the Service works, for as long as it's on the Service. For course data and feedback, the licence is permanent, so the course database stays complete after you leave.
Only post what's yours to share and what's true. Follow the Community Rules. We may remove anything that breaks them, and we'll tell you why.
Tournament comment feeds are for members aged 18 and older.
10.Handicaps, standings and Flame Scores
FFGL handicaps are worked out by us for this league only. They are not official handicaps. Standings are based on scores members post themselves. Flame Scores are members' honest opinions. The FFGL isn't connected to GolfRSA, the South African Golf Association or The R&A. See Handicaps, Leaderboards & Reviews.
11.Our name, logo and website
The Flamin Fairways name, the FF logo, the website and the app belong to us. You may share links and screenshots of your own results. Don't copy, scrape, resell or try to break into the Service.
12.Our responsibility to you
We take reasonable care to keep the Service available, accurate and secure, but it may sometimes be unavailable, especially during maintenance and the beta. We'll give notice of planned downtime where we can.
Golf is played at your own risk. We're not responsible for anything that happens on a golf course.
As far as the law allows, we're not responsible for indirect losses, and our total responsibility to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. This limit doesn't apply where the law doesn't allow it, including for our gross negligence or deliberate wrongdoing, and nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act or the Protection of Personal Information Act.
13.Complaints and disputes
Something not right? Email flaminfairways@gmail.com. We reply within 5 business days and aim to sort it out within 15 business days.
If you're not happy with our answer, you can take it to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO) or the National Consumer Commission. Privacy complaints can go to the Information Regulator (South Africa).
These terms are governed by South African law. Either of us may go to a South African court with jurisdiction, including the Magistrates' Court. If you live outside South Africa, you keep any consumer rights your own country's law gives you that can't be excluded.
14.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the law or the Service changes. For a material change, we'll email members at least 30 days before it applies and ask you to accept the new version. If you don't accept, you may cancel and get a refund for the unused full months, with no cancellation fee. Each version is dated, and earlier versions are available on request.
15.General
- If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we don't enforce a right straight away, we haven't given it up.
- We may transfer this agreement to another company that takes over the Service, as long as your rights stay the same. We'll tell you if that happens.
- Notices to you go to the email address on your account. Legal notices to us go to 7 Tomahawk Street, Pierre van Ryneveld, Centurion, 0157, South Africa, or by email to flaminfairways@gmail.com.
